Internships

Either during the summer between two years of course work, or at the conclusion of coursework, the student will complete a 2 to 3 month supervised internship with one of the program's corporate partners.

The external liaison for the Sloan Professional Master's Programs works with the director of Applied Financial Mathematics to develop interactions with corporate partners, arranging internship opportunities, matching students with positions, and obtaining ongoing corporate feedback on the effectiveness of the training programs. They also support placement of graduates. Students notify the director 3-6 months in advance of their planned internship. Based on the geographical requirements and interests of the students, the liaison and director cultivate those corporate partners as appropriate. There is an annual "Career Day" for interactions between corporate partners and
students.

A paper or other formal report on the substance of the internship is required to complete the credit.
